This passage has been translated from Emerson’s interview which was spoken in his birth language, Dine’h.

We want to help anybody that comes out that wants any kind of spiritual healing or guidance, we are here for them. Whatever their illness is, whatever they have, and need help with, that’s what we are here for. We do a lot of prayers, healings for everybody, we hope that we help them. There’s a lot of things that I think about sometimes about the Spiritual Gathering, my intention is to help people heal from whatever their ailing and hopefully they get the spiritual healing and guidance they need. As a Medicine Man it is my duty to help the people, whoever needs help, whatever illness they have. I enjoy it and I want to help people heal spiritually and to help them on their path. (more…)

My name is Marie Eriacho I’m from Tseyatoh (New Mexico), and I’m here with my Dad and my Brother and Sister. My Mother left for Spirit World 27 years ago which tomorrow is going to be 27 years, so 27 years I was with out my Mom, just my Dad and he talks to me about different things. I learn a lot from my Dad and he makes medicine and he goes out to the mountain and I go with him, make medicines with him. He is a great Medicine Man, after that my Brother and my Sister, they all become Medicine Man and Medicine Woman. For me I’m just trying my best to learn after my Dad, some songs, sacred songs. Well, being a Mother I take care of the home, the kids, food and prayers. Gotta have prayers while your being a Mother and teach your children. I have a son, he’s 32 years old, his name is Arigon Eriacho. I did my best to teach him, the best way I know how. Teach him how to pray, some sacred songs and how to be a good person. We took part in pow wow, we dance. I dance, that’s why I am wearing my Eagle feather and when you want to talk about pow wow, Indian dance you gotta have Eagle feather, that’s why I’m wearing my Eagle feather. Also it represents my family, my husband, myself and my baby, that’s why I’m wearing three Eagle feathers. (more…)

My name is Frank Eriacho,  and I do have a Native American Indian name. As a Bear Child from the Bear Clan from Tseyatoh, N.M. and I belong to the Bear Clan in respect to the traditional stories and legends as I have been taught from the Elders and Medicine People. At this time during the 2001 Spiritual Gathering at Tseyatoh that we are able to express our feelings and our ways of understanding about our culture and how we practice our tradition as it’s been brought down for years and years that we continue to live to the traditional way of life and also we teach our young ones so they can also carry on the traditional way of life. There is a great understanding as to the reality as to where we are coming from, what’s happening, and what’s going on, and how we need to cope with life and reality…how one needs to keep life in a simple way, and to practice…to become strong and be strong in a spriitual way. A lot of people throughout the world are confused, they don’t know what to do they don’t know how to be calm, be more at peace, to feel that peace of mind, and because of the movement of the Spirital Gathering throughout the country we are very fortunate to have one here at Tseyatoh.We have people that have come to us from many miles across the country to be with us to pray with us, to sing with us, to do ceremony with us and to help heal the hurt feelings the grief, to experience the goodness of life. My grandfather was a beautiful man, he was a Medicine Man who helped many, I learned a great deal from him. I also learned part of the medicine, and I look back now on his beautiful life since he is no longer with us…I am really happy how my family has been brought up. I’m proud of them. I have done my work and to this day I’m very happy about that. I realize I’m old now and I’m happy with my family…One of the things I’ve done as part of my life is work to support my family. I’m very happy about that. One of the areas that I see that is different today is a change that’s taken place….the sun used to come up really in a unique way after the darkness, but today that sun doesn’t rise the way it used to be, like it did in my earlier days in my life.
